Pyramid’s diagnostic fee covers travel time to your home and up to 45 minutes to evaluate your system (if further time is needed, the technician will consult with you first). Upon completing the evaluation, our technician will thoroughly discuss their findings, and present you with recommended options. Pyramid uses a flat rate pricing structure to offer an up-front cost allowing you to make an informed decision before proceeding. Rest assured Pyramid will take the time necessary to complete the repair correctly.

Pyramid offers some helpful tips to avoid the necessity of a service call, saving you discomfort, time and money.

  • Check the batteries and confirm your thermostat is mounted on the base correctly.
  • Are there any circuit breakers tripped?
  • Is the furnace access door on securely? Most doors have safety switches that must be engaged for the furnace to operate.
  • Is the filter dirty? 1-inch filters should be replaced every one to three months.
  • If you smell gas, leave the house immediately and call NW Natural Gas @ 800-882-3377 (or your gas provider) from a safe location. DO NOT operate any electrical devices or switches, or use any open flames if you smell gas.
  • Is the gas valve turned on at the furnace? Has any work been done at your home recently?
  • Turn your system off at the thermostat. Wait 2-3 minutes and turn it back on. Listen to what happens. Do you hear clicking, but no ignition? Does the blower come on and nothing else? No sounds from furnace at all?
